Basic Maintenance Guide for Electric Trike Owners

Electric tricycles are relatively low-maintenance compared to fuel vehicles, but they still require regular attention. Sharing these tips with your customers builds loyalty and reduces warranty claims.

Battery Care

Avoid deep discharges below 20%. Charge after each use rather than waiting for full depletion. Store in a cool, dry place. For lead-acid batteries, check water levels monthly. For lithium, ensure the BMS is functioning correctly.

Tire Maintenance

Check tire pressure weekly. Under-inflated tires increase energy consumption by up to 30% and wear out faster. Inspect tread depth monthly and rotate tires every 3,000 km for even wear.

Brake Inspection

Test brakes before every ride. Brake pads should be replaced when thickness drops below 2mm. Check brake cables for fraying and adjust tension regularly. In dusty environments, clean brake components monthly.

Electrical System

Inspect wiring connections quarterly. Look for corrosion, loose connectors, or damaged insulation. Keep electrical contacts clean and apply dielectric grease to prevent moisture damage.
