Lead-Acid Batteries

Lead-acid batteries remain popular in price-sensitive markets. They cost 40-60% less than lithium equivalents upfront, making the final retail price more accessible. However, they are heavier, have a shorter lifespan (300-500 cycles), and require more maintenance.

Best suited for: Markets where upfront price is the primary purchase driver, flat terrain with short daily distances, and customers who prefer lower initial investment.

Lithium Batteries

Lithium batteries (LiFePO4 type recommended) offer 2-3x longer lifespan (1500-2000 cycles), 60-70% less weight, and zero maintenance. The higher upfront cost is offset by lower total cost of ownership over 3-5 years.

Best suited for: Markets with hilly terrain, customers who drive longer distances daily, and premium product lines where quality matters more than lowest price.
